The naming of Joyful Souls

Hello from the Joyful Souls team!  Put simply, we are a group of joyful souls who aim to provide support in a caring and positive way, spreading the joy to those we work with.

We want to share with you part of how our name came to be.  Our story is an important part of who we are, and it all started with family.

One of our support workers had a family member with Down Syndrome.  He was known as the “The Joyful One”, as he was the epitome of the word.

He was always smiling, protected the younger ones and encouraged them to work hard through his words and actions.  He loved all, especially his nieces and nephews.  His presence uplifted everyone around him.

He was an extremely loving, caring, passionate and beautiful human being.  Regardless of the obstacles he faced, he maintained his joyful attitude through each day of his life.

Although The Joyful One is no longer with us, his presence is still felt by all those who knew him.  He touched so many people during his life and he will always be remembered and talked about with a smile.

Our mission is to honour his memory by continuing with the same passion for helping others, and to pass on the joy that he shared with so many.

This is one reason why we are named Joyful Souls.

Welcome to our family!
